Sixth Street Bridge to close to southbound traffic Monday

The Sixth Street Bridge over the Kinnickinnic River south of West Harrison Avenue will close to southbound traffic starting Monday. The bridge will be closed for about one week, according to a news release from Milwaukee’s Department of Public Works.

The bridge was reconstructed last year and will close Monday to allow the contractor to replace additional cracked concrete sections and complete crack repair work. Finishing work will also be completed, including staining the bridge and landscaping, according to the release.
