Mayville Engineering Co. Inc., Mayville, will benefit from a $1.5 million grant from the Department of Commerce’s Community Development Block Grant–Economic Development program.
Gov. Scott Walker announced Thursday that Waushara County received the economic development grant. The county will led the money to Mayville Engineering. The company — which provides prototyping, manufacturing and fabricating services — will purchase and equip a facility and use the money for working capital, according to a news release from Walker’s office.
Mayville is expected to use the money to buy a 156,424-square-foot plant in Wautoma formerly operated by Nelson Muffler. The project, according to the release, will create up to 235 jobs and represent $8.6 million in total investment.
