ABC graduates 255 in 10 trades

Associated Builders & Contractors of Wisconsin Inc. recently held its annual Graduation Banquet at the Kalahari Resort, Wisconsin Dells.

The class of 2011 boasts 255 graduates, representing 127 employers in 10 trades, including carpentry,
concrete finisher, construction craft laborer, electrical, heavy equipment operator, HVAC, plumbing, roofing, sheet metal, and sprinkler fitting.

Each year, an award is given to the craft professional, instructor and apprentice who have displayed the
highest level of commitment to apprenticeship training. Employers, apprentices and instructors
nominate people for each award. A critiquing panel narrows the nominees to one winner.

The following were awarded:

• 2011 ABC of Wis. Craft Profession of the Year: Scott Marquardt, K-W Electric Inc. of

• 2011 ABC of Wis. Instructor of the Year: Ken Delcore, HVAC instructor at Northeast
Wisconsin Technical College of Green Bay; and

• 2011 ABC of Wis. Apprentice of the Year: Alan Strong, plumbing apprentice at Madison
College, sponsored by Dave Jones Plumbing, Heating & Fire Protection in Madison.
