The Beltline has re-opened to traffic after a multi-car crash closed the road for more than four hours Tuesday.

Eastbound lanes of the Beltline in Madison were closed Tuesday morning after a truck flipped over just east of Stoughton Road. The accident, which occurred shortly after 7:30 a.m., killed one and injured two, police said.

According to reports, a pickup truck and a flatbed truck with a trailer were westbound on the Beltline when they collided. The flatbed truck crossed the median and rolled over into the eastbound lanes.

The pickup truck driver was killed, and the other two drivers suffered non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The freeway re-opened around noon.
