Morning pour

Dawn breaks as a crew from the Milwaukee office of J.H. Findorff & Son Inc. finishes a concrete mat-slab on the landfill gas pipeline project Tuesday at the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewer District's Jones Island Water Reclamation Facility in Milwaukee. The pour started after midnight and continued into the morning and was the second of two large concrete pours for the project. When the project is completed in January 2013 the building will house three turbines that will burn landfill gas piped from a Veolia Environmental Services' Emerald Park Landfill 19 miles away in Muskego. When the project is operational, it is designed to significantly reduce the amount of electricity and natural gas the plant will need to buy to clean the waste water that flows through the plant.
