Voters in the Brown Deer School District in Milwaukee County passed two referendums Tuesday to allow the district to consolidate elementary schools and expand the gym and indoor track at the high school.

A tw0-question referendum asked for $18 million for consolidation of elementary schools, and $4 million for an expanded gym and indoor track at the high school. The elementary plan includes closing Dean Elementary and converting the middle school to fourth through sixth grade, while adding seventh and eighth grades to the high school.

Voters approved the consolidation referendum question by a 1,339-766 tally. Voters also passed the expansion question by a 1,102-977 margin.
