Work will begin early next week on the WIS 100 project from Walnut Road to Burleigh Street in Milwaukee County, according to a Wisconsin Department of Transportation news release.
Construction is scheduled to be completed by fall.
WIS 100 will remain open to traffic during construction with temporary lane shifts, according to the news release.
The $6.9 million project, according to the release, will:
• Repave all lanes of WIS 100 from Walnut Road to Burleigh Street with new asphalt pavement.
• Extend left turn lane bays and eliminate dangerous median openings along WIS 100.
• Lower the southbound lanes of WIS 100 under the US 45 overpass to increase clearance for high vehicles.
