Retail space at Milwaukee mall up for bid at sheriff’s sale

Retail space at The Shops of Grand Avenue, a parking garage and pedestrian bridges will be up for sale with a $23 million price tag at a Milwaukee County sheriff’s sale in October.

The property includes pedestrian bridges over North Plankinton Avenue and North 2nd Street, retail space at 161, 275, 223-233 and 321 W. Wisconsin Ave., parking garage space at 607 and 615 N. Plankinton Ave. and 176 W. Michigan St., and various easements. It was foreclosed July 9.

Grand Avenue City Mall LLC, which lists a registered agent in Madison and a principal office in Stamford, Conn., was named as a defendant, as were Shops of Grand SPE LLC and LaSalle Bank National Association with Five Mile Capital Partners LLC of Stamford acting on their behalf.

Wells Fargo, acting on behalf of Bank of America, was the plaintiff. The total amount of the foreclosure judgment was $23,127,321.21, and anyone wishing to purchase the property must pay $2.3 million, 10 percent of the total cost, at the time of sale.

The property will be up for sale at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 22 in Room B-12 of the Safety Building, 821 W. State St., Milwaukee.
