LAONA, Wis. (AP) – One of the largest private employers in Forest County is doubling its workforce.
WD Flooring will use a $750,000 loan from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. to upgrade its manufacturing equipment at the 110-year-old mill in Laona. The company plans to add another 58 employees to its current workforce of 55.
CEO Peter Connor said the demand for flooring has shifted from solid hardwood to engineered wood. WLUK-TV reports the company is looking for both sales and manufacturing applicants.
