Milwaukee County is seeking bids for a facade restoration project on the north and south sides of the Milwaukee Public Museum.
There are two versions of the bid package. Both would require a sub-contractor to remove the existing marble facade, with panels kept intact. The sub-contractor would have salvage rights to the panels.
Under the first version, new facades will be installed along with a vapor barrier and insulation on both the south and north sides.
The second version would require a vapor barrier and insulation on both sides, but the south side would include a metal panel that could support solar energy panels.
Bids are due at 2 p.m. Oct. 24. A pre-bid meeting will be held at 8 a.m. Oct. 4 at the museum.
