A $458,000 phase of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s Zoo Interchange reconstruction will begin next week.
Temporary traffic signals will be installed at Interstate 894 intersections with Lincoln and National avenues, and a double left-turn lane will be created from eastbound Cleveland Avenue to National Avenue in Milwaukee.
A left-turn lane on westbound North Avenue to U.S. 45 will be extended. Several high-occupancy vehicle lanes on the I-894 entrance ramp at National Avenue and U.S. 45 entrance ramp at North Avenue will become single-occupancy vehicle lanes.
The left-turn lane on National Avenue to southbound I-894 will also be repaired.
Zignego Ready Mix Inc., Waukesha, expects to complete this phase by the end of fall.
