ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) – The company that bought the Verso Paper plant in Sartell, Minn., after last year’s explosion and fire is having one heck of a rummage sale.
Fork trucks, hydraulic shears, excavators – everything must go. Thousands of tools, machines, supplies, vehicles and equipment from the former plant will be sold by AIM Development at an upcoming auction.
Jeff McGlin is in charge of the mill reclamation project for AIM. He expects everything in the plant will sell at some price and is anticipating 600 to 700 bidders for the mill’s contents.
The St. Cloud Times says county documents show AIM paid about $12.5 million for the property, including nearly $10 million in personal property.
On site and online bidding starts Tuesday and ends Wednesday.
A preview of the items is being held through Monday in advance of the auction. The preview, which is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, and the auction, which starts at 9 a.m. both days, are open to the public at 100 East Sartell St.
