RIVER FALLS, Wis. (AP) – The Wisconsin home where a man killed his three daughters last year will be going up for auction next month.
A St. Paul Pioneer Press report says Aaron Schaffhausen’s home in River Falls went into foreclosure after he stopped making payments following his arrest. He owed $181,000 through January.
The St. Croix County sheriff’s office says the home will be auctioned Aug. 13.
Schaffhausen, a construction worker from Minot, N.D., admitted killing the three girls last year. They were 11, 8 and 5 years old. Jurors who convicted him agreed he suffered from a mental defect at the time, but they concluded it didn’t prevent him from knowing what he did was wrong.
He’s scheduled to be sentenced July 15.
