A manufacturer of medical garments is looking to buy one of the last land parcels in Milwaukee’s Menomonee Valley Industrial Center.

West Allis-based Solaris Inc. wants to buy 5.5 acres of land at the former Milwaukee Road Shops rail yard for a 67,200-square-foot office and manufacturing center, according to a news release from the company.

City officials declined to comment on the proposal.

The company has 53 employees and projects it will add 30 more jobs during the next two years, according to the release.

Last week, Milwaukee’s Common Council approved plans for Rishi Tea to buy 3.8 acres for a new office, manufacturing and distribution center in the 60-acre industrial center.
