MADISON, Wis. (AP) – Those applying for unemployment insurance in Wisconsin will be required to register with the state’s job-search website starting Oct. 13.
The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development on Friday announced the new requirement.
Those filing for unemployment will be notified throughout the filing process that they have 14 days to register with the Wisconsin Job Service in order to receive their benefits. That process will include creating a “Job Match profile” and uploading or creating a resume.
DWD Secretary Reggie Newson said registering with the jobs website is to the advantage of the unemployed because it connects them with employers who have openings.
