Bridge Street Dam Lighting

More than $33,000 in private money has been raised to illuminate Grafton’s Bridge Street Dam.

A fundraising effort began last summer, and the Village Board will now incorporate electrical infrastructure with the work now being done on the bridge repair project.

The purpose of the illumination project is to highlight the waterfall of the Bridge Street Dam.

The plans were developed by students at the Milwaukee School of Engineering as part of an advanced lighting course. The design includes 16 LED lights installed on the underside of the bridge. The lights will be programmable, and can change colors in preset patterns.

The lighting project will be bid at the end of January. It is anticipated that the project will be completed by May 2014.
