Reconstruction of a stretch of U.S. 45/Highway 100 in Milwaukee County will be the subject of an upcoming meeting hosted by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
WisDOT will host a public meeting at 5 p.m. Thursday at the village of Hales Corners Municipal Building, 5635 S. New Berlin Road, Hales Corners, to discuss the planned rebuild of the 2-mile section of the road, locally called South 108th Street, between Layton and College avenues.
A project presentation will begin at 6 p.m., and WisDOT staff will answer questions and take comments, according to a news release.
WisDOT plans to add medians to the highway ranging from 18 to 30 feet, according to a news release, and add bike lanes and sidewalks.
It is also looking at adding a roundabout to the intersection of Janesville Road and Forest Home Avenue, which is just east of U.S. 45/Highway 100. The roundabout will require relocation of three nearby properties, according to the release.
