WisDOT starts Wisconsin Avenue bridge work

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation began demolishing the northern half of the Wisconsin Avenue bridge over U.S. 41 in Milwaukee on Friday.

U.S. 41 will be closed overnight Friday under the bridge for the duration of the project, which is expected to last two weeks, according to a news release, as will the westbound and eastbound ramps from Interstate 94 to northbound U.S. 41.

The closures will not be in effect Tuesday and Wednesday, and WisDOT does not expect drivers attending Brewers games to be affected by the project.

The project is part of larger repairs to the Stadium Interchange, which are expected to be finished this fall.
