Work continues on Milwaukee housing development

Work is continuing on a housing development on Milwaukee’s north side, where the aim is to rehabilitate neighborhoods that have empty lots and boarded-up homes.

The project, which Gorman & Co. Inc., Oregon, is overseeing, began entered the next phase in October, according to a Gorman news release. The project, which Gorman calls the “Northside Housing Initiative,” involves the company’s buying 102 tax foreclosures from the city and either renovating or demolishing and replacing them.

According to the release, Gorman is working with Northcott Neighborhood House to hire workers for the project.
