MILWAUKEE (AP) — U.S. Rep. Reid Ribble has won a third term in the U.S. House representing his eastern Wisconsin district centered on Green Bay.

Ribble defeated Democrat Ron Gruett, a Marian University professor from Chilton, in Tuesday’s election.

The Sherwood Republican ran his family’s roofing business before running for Congress in 2010. He was Wisconsin’s lone representative on the House Agriculture Committee during passage of the most recent farm bill, which replaced traditional subsidies with crop and other types of insurance.

He also has been part of a group with U.S. Rep. Mark Pocan, a Wisconsin Democrat, which has tried to build relationships and work across party lines.
