Fifteen teams competed in the annual Milwaukee Broomball Classic on Saturday at the Milwaukee School of Engineering’s Kern Center.

About 200 people took part in the 12th annual event, which raised about $6,000 for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee.

Broomball uses plays and strategies from soccer and ice hockey. Players use a stick with a broom-shaped head to move a 6-inch diameter ball across the ice. Players wear shoes, not skates, on the slippery ice.
