The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is starting work on I-94 at Highway 20 in Racine County.
The work is part of the Highway 20 Interchange Reconstruction Project that began in March 2014 and is expected to be completed this year.
The 2015 schedule includes reconstruction of the I-94 east (southbound) and the bridge over Highway 20, along with entrance and exit ramps to and from I-94 east (southbound).
As of Thursday, the outside lane of I-94 west (northbound) is closed. Next week, a single lane of I-94 east (southbound) will also close.
Two lanes of traffic will remain open in each direction during the project.
The traffic switch and closure of the interstate ramps will start Friday.
