Scheduled demolition of the Highway 67 northbound bridge over Interstate 94 this week means The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will be closing interstate ramps and a stretch of freeway in Waukesha County.
The closures for I-94 will be between the state highway entrance and exit ramps, according to a WisDOT news release.
I-94 east and west will close from 10 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday around Highway 67. The Highway 67 entrance ramp to I-94 east will close at 8 p.m. Monday until 5 a.m. Tuesday.
Both sides of I-94 will again close from 10 p.m. Wednesday through 5 a.m. Thursday. Highway 67 will again close, this time starting at 10 p.m. Wednesday through 5 a.m. the following day.
I-94 eastbound travelers will have to exit on the Highway 67 ramp, turn right to head south on the state highway to Delafield Road, turn left to head east toward County Road P and follow the roundabout north to I-94 East entrance ramp.
The department issued a similar route for those looking to use the Highway 67 entrance ramp for I-94 East.
For travelers on I-94 west, take the Highway 67 ramp, cross the state highway and continue to I-94.
Brownsville-based Michels Corp. is performing the work, according to a WisDOT spokesman.Follow @alexzank
