KAUKAUNA, Wis. (AP) — Authorities have released the name of the man killed when the trench he was working in collapsed in east-central Wisconsin.
Outagamie County coroner Ruth Wulgaert says 46-year-old Scott Krepline of Appleton died of multiple blunt-force injuries.
Authorities say Krepline was working for Krepline Trucking and Excavating on a building expansion in Kaukauna when the trench he was digging collapsed.
WLUK-TV reports firefighters on the scene say Krepline’s father also was also working on the project and tried to rescue his son after calling for help.
Authorities are investigating. A spokesman with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration office in Appleton confirmed its investigation of the incident could take up to six months to complete.
