Mashuda readying for reconstruction work on Washington County state highway

Officials with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and Mashuda Contractors Inc. will kick off a planned state highway reconstruction project in Washington County with a public hearing in Richfield.

The event will run from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 17 at the Richfield Volunteer Fire Department station, where Mashuda representatives will present the schedule of operations starting at 6 p.m.

The Princeton-based contractor will start work on Highway 175 from Beechwood Industrial Court to Polk Street in March, according to a WisDOT news release.

The reconstruction project includes new concrete curb and gutters, storm sewers, asphalt, a shared-use path, new signing and pavement markings and a roundabout at the intersection of highways 175 and 167.

Editor’s Note: The above story was corrected on March 8, 2016, to reflect the road under construction is Highway 175.
