APPLETON (AP) — An Appleton-based welding and manufacturing company says it has laid off 76 employees.
Miller Electric notified the state on Monday that it has laid off the employees from its Appleton facility. Miller Electric group president Becky Tuchscherer said the layoffs involved office and plant employees.
Tuchscherer said the workforce reduction was announced as a result of lower demand for products in industries “also experiencing production slowdown, like oil and gas.”
Miller Electric is a subsidiary of Illinois Tool Works.
