GREENWOOD, Miss. (AP) — Milwaukee Tool will add 75 jobs in Greenwood, Miss., and invest $1.5 million, expanding to meet increasing demand.
The unit of Hong Kong-based Techtronic Industries has hired 10 workers and plans to hire the remainder by year’s end, bringing Greenwood employment to 583. The company also employs 737 at a Jackson factory and Olive Branch distribution center.
Mississippi Development Authority spokeswoman Tammy Craft said Monday that MDA is giving Milwaukee Tool $1.5 million for building renovations, with the city of Greenwood adding $150,000. Craft says Milwaukee Tool expects to seek property tax breaks, but didn’t specify a value.
Craft says the company declines to release pay levels.
Milwaukee Tool makes saw blades and repairs tools in Greenwood. Last year, it expanded into a second building, investing $16.8 million and hiring 126.
