J.P. Cullen earns Technical Education Champion Award
Janesville-based J.P. Cullen & Sons recently earned a 2016 Technical Education Champion Award.
Represented by Mark Cullen, chairman of the board for J.P. Cullen, the firm was presented the award on July 15 at the Wisconsin Technical College District Board Association summer meetings in Wausau.
The annual award recognizes community and business leaders for their support of area technical schools and partnership in addressing industry issues. J.P. Cullen earned the honor for its work with Blackhawk Technical College.
Annually, the company donates $200,000 to 65 high schools to mentor students interested in construction trades. In addition, J.P. Cullen has worked with Blackhawk Technical College on internship opportunities and has partnered with the college’s Business and Community Development Division for additional workforce training.
CH Coakley acquires StorX Inc., Telestar
Milwaukee-based CH Coakley — a business solutions provider of third-party logistics, commercial moving, warehousing, order fulfillment and document management — recently acquired two Wisconsin companies: StorX Inc., a New Berlin-based warehousing and trucking group; and Telestar, a Waterford company that provides installation, expansion and support for telecommunication firms.
The transition for both companies is expected to be complete by Aug. 1.
