Milwaukee residents can build new Pete’s Fruit Market

Milwaukee businesses are seeking residents who want to help build the newest grocery store in Milwaukee’s Bronzeville District.

The job and information session will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday at 1915 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Event attendees will learn about opportunities in carpentry, general labor and other skilled construction-trades positions, according to a news release from Alderwoman Milele Coggs’ office.

The new Pete’s Fruit Market will answer the request from residents for more grocery options in the neighborhood, Coggs said in the release.

“And now we have the opportunity for people in the neighborhood to be a part of building this new Pete’s Fruit Market grocery store,” Coggs said in the release.

The grocery store, along with other Milwaukee-based businesses — Vangard Group, JCP Construction and Athena Communications — are hosting the event.
