Project name: Bellin Health Sports Medicine & Orthopedics Clinic in the Titletown District
Address: Corner of Ridge Road and Lombardi Avenue
Size: 50,000 square feet
Start date: October 2016
Estimated completion date: June 2017
Owner: Bellin Health Systems, Green Bay
General contractor: Miron Construction Co. Inc., Neenah
Lead architect: Somerville Inc., Green Bay
Number of workers employed: 240 in total, having a peak crew size of 65 workers and average crew size of 40 workers.
Significance to the region: The new Bellin Health clinic is part of the Green Bay Packers’ 34-acre, $130 million Titletown District development. The district, which lies just west of Lambeau Field, will also include a 144-room Lodge Kohler hotel and Hinterland Restaurant and Brewery. The clinic, for its part, will house MRI, X-ray, fluoroscopy and ultrasound equipment. It will also include a VIP section that allows well-known patients’ privacy while they receive treatment. The clinic will be a primary-care location for Packers players, and will also be open to the public.
Project challenges: Crews are working on an aggressive project schedule and having to deal with a site that has unsuitable soils and a high water table. Auger-cast piles are being used to support the clinic’s foundation due to soil that isn’t capable of supporting the building loads.
