Progress being made on Lower Yahara River Trail (VIDEO)

Dane County officials have released drone footage showing progress on the Lower Yahara River Trail.

The Lower Yahara trail is billed as the longest bike and pedestrian trail that has never been open to vehicles in the state. The trail will will link to the Capital City Bike Trail at the Lussier Family Heritage Center, and will extend through Lake Farm County Park to McDaniel Park in McFarland.

Crews with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation will work over the winter to complete the remaining sections of boardwalk.

Construction is expected to finish in June 2017.
