Ahern shuffling executive roles on Nov. 1

J.F. Ahern, a large specialty contractor with its headquarters in Fond du Lac, is making a series of changes at the top of its corporate ranks effective Nov. 1.

Tony Ahern, now executive vice president of fabrication and operations at Ahern, will become company president and chief operating officer. Tripp Ahern, president since 1994 and chief executive officer since 1997, will relinquish his president title while remaining CEO. He will also become chairman of the company’s board of directors. The current chairman of the board, John Ahern, will stay on as chairman emeritus.

In the Milwaukee area, Bob Fischer, executive vice president of Ahern’s Milwaukee Division, will be retiring on Oct. 31, 2019. In the year leading up to that date, he will be helping Tim Schneider, now vice president of Ahern’s Northeast Division, take over the reins as executive vice president of the Milwaukee division. Schneider has been at Ahern for 15 years, holding various leadership roles.

With Schneider leaving the company’s northeast division, Grant Nadler will be stepping up to take it over as Northeast Regional Construction Manager. Nadler has been at Ahern since 2011.

J.F. Ahern specializes in heating-and-cooling, plumbing, controls, sprinkler, extinguisher and alarm contracting, as well as fabrication for construction and service projects. The company was founded in 1880 and has more than 1,400 employees throughout the United States.
