In positioning itself for a strong future, Price Erecting recently put a new leadership team in place. So far this year it has seen 54 percent growth, buoyed in part by the Wisconsin manufacturing and construction industry.

“We have the people, manpower and skills to compete with fellow leaders within the industry,” said Jason Young, president of Price Erecting. “The market is in flux right now, creating a lot of uncertainty and questions among our customers like manufacturers and general contractors. We’re working with them to focus on progress in light of uncertainty and help them stay focused on the future.”

The company has also worked hard to build its brand.

“I know we were recognized for our expertise and timeliness our clients continue to rely on and expect from our hard-working team,” Young said. “In the last year we recognized one of the ways we stand out is for our ability to tackle unique and challenging steel fabrication, erecting and rigging projects.

“We built our brand on our commitment to safety and strove to establish ourselves as leaders in our industry this last year, and it paid off.”

Katie Felten, chief executive of the brand-management company Strategy House, praised Price Erecting officials for recognizing that they need to invest in their brand. The company is more than 100 years old and could have easily been held back by an insistence on doing things the old way.

“They needed to innovate, build strong partnerships, get involved in industry-wide initiatives and with the community, and reexamine who they were as a business, asking the important question: What does the name Price Erecting mean to the community as a whole?” she said. “Over the last year, Price Erecting truly invested in their brand.”

The company is a member of the Wisconsin Veteran’s Chamber of Commerce and, at a recent Veteran’s Workforce Summit, was named Veteran Friendly Business of the Year.

Young also serves as the president of the Waukesha County Construction Alliance, which helps kids discover if they have an aptitude for the trades. He also is involved in Kids Build Wisconsin, which provides career expos and activities for middle school students.

“I know to continue to grow we need to connect with the next generation,” Young said.
