Sides square off on bills to allow use of alternative piping materials

As state lawmakers move forward with bills that would block local officials from favoring the use of certain piping materials in infrastructure projects, a recently introduced federal proposal would loosen the restrictions placed on water infrastructure projects that receive federal money.
