Irgens to overhaul building in Milwaukee County Research Park

The developer Irgens plans to overhaul a building in the Milwaukee County Research Park after purchasing the property recently.

The firm bought a five-story, 130,000-square-foot office building at 10701 Research Drive in Wauwatosa for $9.5 million. The developer is planning “substantial improvements” to the property.

The building, which sits at the corner of Mayfair Road and Research Drive, was constructed in 1995 as the first building in the Milwaukee County Research Park. Irgens is planning to update common areas in the building and develop a “distinctive amenity package.” The firm also plans to offer custom-built space within the building to future tenants.

“The acquisition of this premier property is indicative of our continued belief in the strength of the research park and immediate area.” said Tom Irgens, executive vice president of the firm, in a statement.

In addition to its latest purchase, Irgens is planning to build a six-story office building, a two-story office building and a two-story parking garage at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Innovation Campus nearby in Wauwatosa.
