With more than 24 years’ experience in the construction industry, Brian Hesse brings a wealth of knowledge to every jobsite.

Hesse, superintendent at JP Cullen, is responsible for project supervision and job-site management. He also helps ensure trades workers follow schedule and phasing plans.

In the more than two decades that he’s been at the company, Hesse has worked on many noteworthy projects. They include the Milwaukee Bucks Training Center, Froedtert McKinley Health Center, Hamilton School District Intermediate School, Epic Deep Space, ProHealth Care Greenwald Clinic and Westlawn Garden Multi-Family Apartments.

Colleen Wischnewski, marketing coordinator at JP Cullen, said that Hesse is an indispensable member of the company’s strategic-planning team.

“He is heavily involved with our firm’s initiative to attract talent to our company and the industry,” she said. “In a time when there is a huge push to go to college versus the trades, this is integral to keep the construction industry moving forward.

“He is also heavily involved in our firm’s diversity initiative to meet our corporate goals. Brian has been a champion of JP Cullen both on and off the jobsite.”

Hesse’s interest in the construction industry can be traced to his childhood years, when he always wanted to be outside building something.

Asked what he likes most about working for JP Cullen, Hesse said: “The amount of input I have with upper management, and the mission statement for the company.”

Hesse said that one of the attributes that sets JP Cullen — a family-owned business that has been around since 1892 — apart from competitors is its commitment to its field personnel.
