Historic designation for former hospital could thwart UWM’s plans (access required)

A Milwaukee city panel voted Tuesday to designate a former Columbia Hospital building as historic, despite objections from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, which owns the building and had planned to raze it next month.
