A Nebraska-based cinema company will move into the space above the Rotunda at Bayshore, shopping mall officials announced Wednesday.
ACX Cinemas will set up in a 42,951-square-foot space at 5750 N. Bayshore Drive in the summer of 2023, Bayshore management said in a statement. Hunzinger Construction will take the helm of construction and 5G Studio Collaborative will be the lead architect.
Hunzinger will start construction on the week of Oct. 9 and will handle all construction and structural elements to the project, a spokesperson for Bayshore said.
The new location includes six movie theaters with luxury heated recliners, bowling lanes, gaming machines and a Backlot Pizza + Kitchen featuring a full-service bar and restaurant, mall officials said.
Bayshore senior general manager Mary Mokwa said the mall welcomed ACX Cinemas and was pleased to elevate experience for guests. “They are the perfect addition to our entertainment and hospitality offerings,” she added.
ACX Cinemas started in 1988 and has locations in Nebraska and Iowa. This would be the company’s first location in Wisconsin, ACX officials said.
