X-Golf at American Family Field in Milwaukee is the first-of-its-kind entertainment venue in a Major League Baseball ballpark.
The X-Golf facility features seven state-of-the-art, indoor golf simulator bays over two floors – with three bays that offer expansive views of the playing field. The facility also offers an impressive outdoor patio with the opportunity to catch the game and wait outside for “tee times.”
Delaware North, the official concessions company of American Family Field, has created a menu of specialty drinks and pub fare that will be available for fans year-round, including all Brewers home games.
The opening of the X-Golf provides the Brewers with an activity that keeps the ballpark open for fans in the off-season.
One of the biggest challenges during construction was retrofitting X-Golf into a unique, multilevel space in American Family Field.
“This had never been done before and it was a challenge for everyone to work within the 11,000-square-foot space to maximize space for golf simulators and for mingling, while also taking advantage of the spectacular view of the field,” said Jason Hartlund, executive vice president-chief commercial officer with the Milwaukee Brewers.
“This took a lot of creative thinking, planning and coordination, and we could not be happier with the result.”
Hunzinger Construction served as general contractor on the project, which was completed last September.
“We’ve worked with Hunzinger on several projects and have a strong partnership. Our teams work together to identify challenges, communicate often and work against often times tight timelines to pull together top-quality work,” Hartlund said.
