C-Level Awards 2026: William J. Levy, Executive CPM | CEO and President, BMOC, Inc.

William J. Levy has led BMOC, Inc. as CEO and president since the Madison, Wisconsin-based property management firm was founded in 1986. Today the company employs 51 people and manages a portfolio shaped by Levy’s disciplined approach to development and operations.

Levy has worked alongside institutional capital partners including Goldman Sachs-backed funds, Rockefeller-affiliated groups and Northwestern Mutual. That experience anchors a leadership philosophy built on defining a project’s purpose before capital is deployed — rigorously evaluating functional use, market timing and renter demand.

Under Levy’s direction, BMOC has integrated smart-building technologies into its properties, including electronic access systems and mobile-based property technology that enables keyless entry, adjusts climate controls and personalizes in-unit features such as lighting preferences. The company is also exploring cell-based communication systems designed to create new revenue opportunities through bundled services.

BMOC champions efficient unit layouts and right-sized square footage — a design philosophy Levy describes as building smarter rather than bigger. “Thoughtful design, not excess, creates competitive advantage,” according to the company.

Levy serves on the BMC board and the University of South Florida Business School board, and is a former International Real Estate Management Institute international regional vice president. He also serves on the University of Wisconsin-Stout Real Estate Program board.

His honors include the 2018 IREM REME Award, the 2019 USF Fast 56 Award and recognition as a Revitalize 2025 Supportive Housing Partner through BMC. The Daily Reporter named BMOC projects top honors in both 2014 and 2018.
