Greenfire bets big on the construction industry (access required)

Greenfire was born of the Forest County Potawatomi Community’s desire to diversify the tribe’s business so it wouldn’t be completely reliant on its success in the gambling industry. Until the late 1980s, the Community had been among the poorest of Wisconsin’s 11 Native American tribes, and it didn’t want its progress tied to the fate of one enterprise.

Catalyst provides stimulus for future workforce (access required)

When Bradley Tech High School students applied to be a part of an educational construction project at the Freshwater Plaza in Milwaukee’s Walker’s Point neighborhood, they probably expected some hands-on work with tools. What they didn’t expect was to get lessons on the business-side of the project, including acquiring land or leasing a finished building.
