BUILDING BLOCKS: Westside Elementary and Meyer Middle schools in River Falls

The schools were paid for using a $46 million bond referendum approved by voters in April 2018. Other projects paid for through the same referendum include a $9.1 million River Falls Montessori Elementary, the remodeling of River Falls High School and additions to Greenwood Elementary and Rocky Branch Elementary schools.

The father of Jacob Blake, a Black man who was shot by police in Kenosha, Wisconsin, says his son was left paralyzed from the waist down. Blake's father told the Chicago Sun-Times that he was told his son was shot eight times during the Sunday evening confrontation with police, which was captured on cellphone video and led to two nights of unrest in the city between Milwaukee and Chicago.

‘Nowhere to go’: Wisconsin renters face evictions as emergency aid falls short

By the time the Social Development Commission, which distributes the aid, told her she was on a waiting list with thousands of others, Walton’s landlord had already issued a five-day notice — leading to an eviction.
