Verona Area High School (access required)

The Verona Area School District in Dane County encompasses 57 square miles of rolling hills, farmland and a rapidly growing housing market. Dane County is also one of the fastest growing counties in the state, and the district has added more than 1,500 students within the past 20 years.

St. James 1868 (access required)

St. James Episcopal Church was built in 1868 in the Gothic Revival style by the famed architect William Lloyd. St. James Episcopal Church is one of the oldest stone structures in Milwaukee. In 1979, the property was designated by the City of Milwaukee’s Historic Preservation Committee as “historically significant,” earning its place on the National Register of Historic Places. Throughout the years, though, the congregation had dwindled to the point that the church was closed and the building was sold in November 2017.

Resch Expo (access required)

GRAEF worked with Kahler Slater Architects and Populous to provide designs for this new exposition center, which includes an outdoor public plaza. The Expo Center replaced the former Shopko in Ashwaubenon and stands across the street from Lambeau Field. The multi-use hall includes space for expositions, entertainment groups, indoor and outdoor sports, commerce and private and public events. GRAEF provided structural, site and civil engineering and landscape architecture and survey services for this $93 million project, which was completed in December 2020.

Notre Dame De Pere (access required)

This new school, which serves students in kindergarten through eighth grade, was built on the site of the previous Notre Dame Elementary School. It will replace two older buildings — an elementary school and a middle school — concentrating instruction at a single site.

I-39/90 Expansion Project

This project, going from County Road O to U.S. Highway 14 in Janesville, is part of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s reconstruction of a 45-mile stretch of Interstate 39/90 from the Illinois state line to Madison. The project rebuilt and widened I-39/90 in the Janesville area from four to eight lanes. It also included the construction of 10 bridges, six retaining walls, nine noise walls and two sign bridges, and the construction of a park-and-ride lot in the northeast corner of the interchange of Highway 11 and East Racine Street.

Saint John’s on the Lake (access required)

Saint John’s on the Lake consists of about 422,000 square feet of new construction and interior renovations. The first of its two phases entailed the construction of a 22-story tower with 2-1/2 levels of underground parking, a commons and residential accommodations on the first floor, skilled-nursing services on the second and third floors, assisted-living services on the fourth floor, hybrid-assisted-living services on the fifth and mechanical spaces on the sixth. There are 79 independent living units on floors seven through 22.
