Wisconsin renters who lost income because of the coronavirus pandemic are no longer protected from Gov. Tony Evers' eviction ban, but they will soon be able to apply for as much as $3,000 in state aid.
Gov. Tony Evers has banned landlords throughout Wisconsin from evicting tenants and ordered lenders statewide to halt foreclosure actions for 60 days, according to an emergency order issued Friday.
The state Department of Justice has filed a lawsuit alleging a South Carolina company tricked Wisconsin residents into renting uninhabitable properties.
