The construction of the Lower Yahara River Trail in Dane County — which includes Wisconsin's longest pedestrian and bicycle bridge — reached a milestone Monday when crews placed the final link of boardwalk over the water connecting Lake Farm County Park with the village of McFarland's McDaniel Park.
Construction on the 45.9 million Lower Yahara River Trail in Dane County, which will include the state's longest bicycle bridge, kicked off on Wednesday. The first phase of the project, which includes 2.5 miles of trails and more than 1 mile of bridges and boardwalk, is expected to finish in the summer of 2017.
State officials have awarded a nearly $6 million contract for the construction of a 2-½ mile pedestrian and bike trail in Dane County, a project that will include about a mile of bridges and boardwalk.
