Bids have been received for structural improvements and repairs to the O’Donnell Park garage in Milwaukee.

J.P. & Sons Inc., Janesville, submitted the low bid for structural improvements Wednesday. Cullen & Sons bid $1,598,797 for the project, which includes providing new metal panel facades and parking structure refinishing.  Inc., Madison, turned in the second-lowest bid at $1.734 million. Services, Pewaukee, bid $1.946 million.

A pair of Minnesota companies were the lowest bidders for structural repairs at O’Donnell. RAM Construction Services of Minnesota LLC, Little Canada, came in at $916,316 for the project, which includes resealing the entire deck, patching numerous cracks and fixing broken storm drains. SPS Infrastructure Inc., St. Paul, bid $979,565 and Vista Design & Construction LLC, Milwaukee, came in at $1.066 million.

The plan is to have O’Donnell Park reopen by the July festival season, said Jack Takerian, director of public works for Milwaukee County.

On June 24, a 13 1/2-ton panel fell off the structure’s east side, killing a 15-year-old boy and seriously injured two others.

Former Milwaukee County Executive and current Gov. Scott Walker has said the county is losing more than $100,000 a month in parking revenue while the structure is closed.
