Dane County Executive Falk to resign

Listen to this articleMADISON, Wis. (AP) — Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk says she is resigning in April.
At a news conference Monday, Falk said it was the right time to move on since she is turning 60 in 2011.
Falk has been the county executive since 1997. She was re-elected in 2001, 2005 and 2009. She lost in the Democratic primary for governor in 2002, when she became the first major party female candidate for governor in Wisconsin history.
Before becoming the county executive, Falk was an assistant attorney general in the Wisconsin Department of Justice for 14 years.
