The WHEDA Foundation on Friday announced it has awarded $500,000 in housing grants to projects across the state.
In Milwaukee, 134 units or beds will be created at six projects, which will receive a total of $113,429 in grants.
Statewide, 798 units or beds will be added to projects receiving the grant money, according to the award list.
Grant recipients in Milwaukee include My Home, Your Home Inc.; Guest House of Milwaukee Inc.; The Cathedral Center Inc.; Rebuilding Together Greater Milwaukee Inc.; and TLS Behavioral Health, which has offices in Milwaukee and Racine.
United Community Center Inc., Milwaukee, will be building a new, single-story, 15-bed facility using its $25,000 grant for an elevator, HVAC, electrical and plumbing, according to the grant award list from WHEDA.
United Community Center representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
