County to vote on Zoo Interchange land offer

Listen to this articleThe Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors’ Finance, Personnel and Audit Committee is expected to vote Thursday on whether to accept a $13 million offer from the state for 10 parcels of land.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is offering a total of $13,071,872 for the land, which it claims it needs in order to accommodate the Zoo Interchange reconstruction.
The county’s transportation director recommends approving the agreement, according to a memo sent to the board chair, but requests authorization to seek additional money for three of the parcels to compensate the county for lost parking space.
