ROCHESTER, Minn. (AP) — Plans continue to evolve for a high-speed line from the Twin Cities to Chicago, as Minnesota officials study possible routes the rail could follow.

The state is expected to release a report this week discussing sites that can be possible stops. The report will name several rail corridors that have been chosen for additional environmental analysis.

One option is expected to include a corridor through Rochester. Other possibilities could include a “river route” along the Mississippi River through Winona; an Eau Claire, Wis., corridor; and a route on the Wisconsin side of the Mississippi.

According to the Rochester Post-Bulletin, the report won’t pick one route over another. Instead it will simply list several priority routes.
